Connor Jewiss is a dynamic and innovative professional with a diverse skill set that’s split into two parts: Tech: investment scouting, product and user experience; and Content: technology journalism, PR & marketing, and social media.
With a proven track record at Phavour, he has excelled from an intern to a leader in research & development, alongside user experience. These skills transferred into the venture side of the table, with multiple successful deal facilitations under his belt. Connor brings a unique blend of analytical and creative skills, demonstrated in his work reviewing investment opportunities and enhancing product strategies.
Connor is also a seasoned technology writer, editor, and product expert with nearly a decade of experience covering consumer tech across both web and print. His bylines span trusted titles such as Stuff, CNET, TechRadar, iMore, and Trusted Reviews, where he’s reviewed hundreds of gadgets – from smartphones and wearables to smart home devices and electric vehicles. He has reported from major international tech expos including CES, MWC, and IFA, and has contributed as a panel judge at these events, bringing both product insight and critical rigour to the table. He’s also appeared as an on-air technology expert for broadcasters like France24, discussing product trends and consumer technology developments on television and radio.
Beyond journalism, Connor is deeply embedded in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. He is a former Venture Partner at Timeless VC, where he helped raise and deploy capital into consumer-facing startups, and now supports early-stage founders through angel investments, growth strategy, and product positioning. His involvement in the innovation pipeline – from reviewing bleeding-edge prototypes to evaluating investor pitches – gives him a unique dual-lens perspective on what makes a product both functional and commercially viable. He’s also led product development at Phavour, where he helped shape UX and go-to-market for its US launch.
Today, Connor advises emerging consumer brands and leads content strategy for high-growth companies. His work has helped shape strategies for Product Hunt, Invisibility Inc, Calorik, Ben’s Bites, Sipfree, DECKO, and more. His platform knowledge is broad, with particular expertise in macOS, iOS/iPadOS, electric mobility, and mobile innovation. With his rare combination of editorial judgement, product intuition, and market fluency, Connor remains a valuable asset to any forward-thinking organisation.

I previously wrote a newsletter called Rounded Weekly. It showed you the hottest funding rounds closed. There was a new daily edition, while subscribers still got a weekly edition with more general information for everyone. Elevator pitch: Your personal Crunchbase for the rounds you actually care about. The newsletter attracted thousands of subscribers before I sunsetted it.
Newell Road Ventures*, Global – (January 2026 - present)*
Partner at Newell Road Ventures, a private, partner-led venture studio and investment vehicle. We exist to craft the things people didn't know to ask for – building and backing high-stakes projects with global scope across technology, infrastructure, media, and sport, and we operate deliberately discreetly. NRV has a background of value across the UK, US, SEA, and Hong Kong. This has accumulated into a diverse portfolio of high-stakes projects, managed through a singular line of communication.
My work sits between strategy and execution. I help take complex ideas from first-principles into real structures, real partners, and real deliverables, including commercial models, stakeholder strategy, and narrative positioning. A lot of this is zero-to-one work, where speed, taste, and judgement matter as much as process.
